Like seven-segment displays, there are green, yellow, red, and bicolor (red/green) matrix LED
displays.
Matrix LED displays can be organized as
cathode row
(anode column) or
anode row
(cath-
ode column). In a cathode-row organization, the LEDs in a row have a common cathode. In an
anode-row organization, the LEDs in a row have a common anode. The cathode-row organiza-
tion and anode-row organizations are shown in Figures 10.22 and 10.23, respectively.
