Running from the Greenwich Peninsula to the Royal Docks, the
Emirates
Air Line
has been a financial disaster. It's essentially a cable car that runs
along the Thames, and it's used by virtually nobody. Which is a shame, be-
cause for a bargain £6 you get a 20 minute aerial round trip along the river.
Where to eat
With the original streets torn down and the replacements occupied by popular chains, this
is not a place for a good feed. Expect the standard poor value fare you find in modern shop-
ping malls across the globe.
Where to drink and party
Again, the redevelopment has killed the soul of the area. The rest of East London is a much
better bet for drinking and partying.
