Where to drink and party
It's hard to find greater iconicity than the local boozers in this part of London. Many of
them resemble the Queen Vic from famous London soap opera Eastenders . Forgive the
rugged interiors and carpet stains; it's how the locals like it.
Each suburb has a fabulous array of options and you'll never be more than 200 yards from
a pint. Some of the best pubs are detailed below.
Bethnal Green - The Star of Bethnal Green (359 Bethnal Green Road ),
the King's Arms ( 11 Buckfast Street ), and the Well & Bucket ( 143 Bethnal
Green Road) . For something a little alternative and weird check out what's

Hoxton - It's hard to look past the Queen of Hoxton , a kind of pub turned
club meets theater and cinema.
Dalston - An amazing tea and coffee experience can be found at Tina,
We Salute You ( 47 King Henry's Walk ), then for supping on ale get to the
Railway Tavern ( 2 Jude Street) , Ruby's ( 76 Stoke Newington Road ) or the
Prince George ( 40 Parkholme Road) .
Hackney - A little more upmarket than elsewhere, these options also serve
up excellent gastro pub grub. Try the Wenlock Arms ( 26 Wenlock Road ) or
Hackney Plough ( 23-25 Homerton High St).
