without the need for traditional programming. All the developer needs to
know are basic SQL statements and some HTML coding. With this basic
knowledge, an application has been created that can be useful and pro-
vide value.
The IDC technology is compatible with a Microsoft Internet Information
Server. The personal Web server version was used to test this application.
Users accessing the telephone directory can do so with any browser that
can read and interpret HTML code (e.g., Netscape or Microsoft).
There are many ways to access data through the Web; IDC is the sim-
plest and quickest way of doing so. If the requirements for specific applica-
tions can be met with this method, it will be a convenient and low
maintenance solution.
