standards because there are no satisfactory ones to be borrowed from
another source. The key for making this approach a success is to begin
with a framework that is similar to the exhibits shown previously. You will
probably want to modify the subcategories in the tables, or even to merge
or expand the number of tables that are shown. A champion in the organi-
zation, perhaps a business analyst, should then review other projects and
define a standard for each subcategory (e.g., all variable names must be
