Rumbaugh's Object Modeling Technique
The OMT (OMT) is used to develop software objects that have both a data
structure and behavior. The object model shows the structure of a system in
terms of objects, their attributes, their operations, and the relationships
between objects. The goal in constructing an object model is to capture
those concepts from the real world that are important to an application.
The basic element of the model is the object, which is represented by a
box. The name of the object is placed at the top of the box (see Exhibit 6).
An object is an abstraction of a real world entity that has definite bound-
aries and meaning. Objects that have similar attributes, operations, and
