Wara Yassi organization 04 4136572, intiwarayassi.org . The park and refuge are man-
aged by the Inti Wara Yassi Inti organization, which relies largely on volunteers, many of
them young foreign travellers who stop here for a month or two. Volunteers must stay for a
minimum of fifteen days and can sleep in the Ca sa de Voluntarios dorm itory . It is also pos-

Alojamiento La Pascana Just off the plaza. No phone. A bit quieter, though no more com-
fortable, than some of t he ot her lodges in town, La Pascana has bare-bones, cleanish rooms
with shared bathrooms. Bs50
Alojamiento Sucre Opposite La Pascana. No phone. This friendly pl ace h as a few spartan
rooms off a big dancehall (which can get very noisy on the weekends). Bs50
EATING
VILLA TUNARI
Inexpensive food is available from stalls along the main road, though hygiene is not neces-
sarily the top priority. Most hotels have restaurants open to non-guests.
San Silvestre On the main road. The town's best restaurant is a huge open-walled place with
coconut trees and outdoor seating overlooking the river. The menu features a good range of
coffees and alcoholic drinks, plus pizzas, pastas and comida tipica, including local river fish
like the delicious surubĂ­ . Mains Bs18-45.
PUERTO VILLARROEL
There are a few restaurants selling cheap set almuerzos and tasty fried river fish.
