TOURIST INFORMATION
The helpful main municipal tourist office is on the first floor of the Casa de Cultura (Mon-Fri
8.30am-noon & 2.30-6pm; 04 6435240), a block southeast of Plaza 25 de Mayo on
Calle Argentina; there are also useful information booths at the airport and the bus terminal
(Mon-Sat 8.30am-noon & 2.30-6pm). There's also a university-run tourist office at - appro-
priately enough - Estudiantes 49, just off Plaza 25 de Mayo (Mon-Fri 8.30am-12.30pm &
2.30-6.30pm; 04 6452283); it is manned by enthusiastic students who sometimes act as
guides.

Runs excellent one- and two-day trips (Bs567-847/

textile tradition. It's far less touristy than
Tarabuco
, and you can stay at a delightful hacienda.

Runs guided
quad, ATV (all-terrain vehicle) and motorbike tours through the countryside surrounding
Sucre. A three-hour beginners trip costs from Bs196 ($49), while a six-hour “Xtreme” ride is
Bs596 ($149).
ACCOMMODATION
Sucre has a good range of accommodation, most of it located in the heart of the old city
centre. There are some particularly beautiful places set inside converted
colonial mansions

which represent very good value in the middle and upper price ranges: if you're on a tight
budget but like to splash out every so often, this is the place to do it. All rates include
