Starred items were included in a more general category in the UNICEF planning document. They
are merged with the larger category in Table 3.10

An “ideal inventory” was then constructed using the ideal quantities of each
device given in the UNICEF planning guide. In order to compare both hospitals
against the same baseline inventory, the ideal inventory contains the combination
(minus duplicates) of “UNICEF quantities” for the two devices. Equipment that was
not listed in the UNICEF planning guide is displayed in Table 3.9 but was excluded
from the MTS calculation process. The ideal inventory is shown in Table 3.10 .
