Consideration of the entire West African region sheds further insight into the
availability of soy through intra-regional trade (Table 2.12 ).
This data provides a measure of confidence that a large pool of potential corn- and
soy-derived biomaterials is available to the Ghanaian health sector based solely on
agricultural output.
Ghana is a member of the ECOWAS, which confers benefits in the form of lower
tariffs on intra-regional trade. The current structure of tariffs in Ghana conforms to
the breakdown in Table 2.13 .
