Italy Overview
The Most Beautiful Italian Regions
Due to its vast land size, Italy can be divided up into three general regions. From there they
are then divided up into more specific regions similar to states like in the US. Then there are
also the islands of Italy to cover as well. The country of Italy itself is divided into the North-
ern, Central, and Southern Regions, with each one having its own sense of culture, history,
cuisine, and dialect. Where you chose to visit in Italy depends on a number of factors. There
are many questions you can ask yourself including: What cities are on my list of places to
see in Italy? Do I want to go to the beach? Do I want to go wine tasting at various vineyards?
What museums do I wish to visit? The questions can truly be endless, but the answers can
be summed up into the three general regions of Italy, or with the various island options. In
the following chapters, each general region and the islands will be broken down into places
to see and visit, making it easier to plan your Italian destination getaway.
Within each general regional section of Italy, we will explore more specific regions and the
cities within them that are great to visit. The guide also includes some great Italian islands
to explore as well. There will also be places to visit listed geared toward those who are look-
ing for a more nature involved vacation such as going to a national park or lake. And of
course, for those looking to immerse themselves in the vast cultural Italian heritage and his-
tory, we'll take a look at museums and popular historical places to see. You'll also find tips
on places to stay as well as where to indulge in some heavenly Italian cuisine. So, without
