measure. The database was taken from MPEG-7 Core Experiment on
Shape Query. We show some selected results and summarize the qual-
itative performance of this shape descriptor and its similarity measure
in Figure 6.16. However, the size of the database does not allow for
example by example analysis and we compare results with the objective
measure that was used in the MPEG-7 Core Experiment on Shape.
As shown in Figure 6.15, we choose a small subset of results to demon-
strate the qualitative functionalities and problems of our shape query
system over a large database. In the first column on the left, the query
