various parts of the body simultaneously. In eel metamorphosis, the
hypothalamus—pituitary—thyroid axis is probably regulated principally by
TRβB. Other TRs may be associated with the regulation of gene expression
in various parts of the body, and thereby induce morphological and
biochemical changes.
