To bring these models into Blender, use the Import > Wavefront (.obj) command on the File menu.
Sometimes, OBJ files show up in Blender in odd locations or with strange scaling values. If it seems that
nothing appears when you import, check the N-key panel for the location of the currently selected object.
The newly imported objects should begin their lives selected in Blender, and simply setting the Location
values on the panel to zeros (or using Alt-G to clear any translation) will bring them to the center of the
3D space. Also, check the Dimension section of the N-key panel, as the object might be so large or small
that you can't see it.
Often, OBJ files that are imported might have lots of extra vertices that need to be removed before any
serious work can begin. Simply jump into edit mode, select all the vertices (A key), and use the Remove
Doubles tool, either from the W-key specials menu, the toolbar, or the spacebar pop-up menu. Remove
