The Raise forest functional level dialog box
To clear up any confusion about which configurations for forest and domain functional
levels are valid, examine Figure 10-4. The first forest is set at the Windows Server 2008 level
with domains at the Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 levels. This configuration isn't
valid because domain functional levels must be equal or greater than forest functional levels. The
second forest is set at the Windows Server 2003 level with domains at the Windows Server 2008
and Windows Server 2003 levels, which is a valid configuration.
