The next point of interest is De Oude Kerk “the old church”. To get to De Oude Kerk, cross
the canal, make a right and take the first bridge on your left. This church is Amsterdam's
oldest building and was founded in 1213. Today, this is a venue for both religious and cul-
tural activities (for example, the annual Word Press Photo's awards event is held here).
