Although Amsterdam is home to a vibrant multicultural population, it is in the De Pijp
neighborhood where you will see it in living color.
The neighborhood boasts numerous ethnic restaurants representing the various communities
that have immigrated there over the past hundred years. You can try wonderfully aromatic
Middle Eastern dishes on one street, or turn a corner and find spicy North African fare.
The De Pijp neighborhood is also filled with music and bars and is the place many locals
come to unwind on the weekends. The summers are particularly busy and it can often be a
difficult task to find a table.
