16. Spiegelkwartier Area
One of the funkiest neighborhoods in Amsterdam is the Spiegelkwartier area, located a
stone's throw from museum row where the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum are loc-
ated.
The area is filled with curiosities, arts, crafts, and antiques and has been that way for close
to a century.
Spiegelkwartier, also known as the Mirror Quarter, hosts more than 70 art galleries, mu-
seums, and antique shops that provide a mix antique collectables, modern crafts, as well as
art from up and coming Dutch artists who have a lot to live up to in this former home of
Rembrandt and Van Gogh.
A walk through the neighborhood will also take you back in time with the narrow streets
