4. Van Gogh Museum
The Van Gogh Museum is an ode to the life and work of one of the world's greatest French
Impressionist artists, Vincent Van Gogh. It may be a little smaller than some of its museum
neighbors but is chock full of information and boasts the largest collection of Van Gogh's
work available.
The museum houses hundreds of Van Gogh's drawings and paintings including some of his
most famous works, like The Bedroom, Sunflowers and Almond Blossom to name just a
few. Thoroughly interesting are his brutally honest self-portraits.
The museum layout takes visitors on a journey through Van Gogh's works from his early
years through to his final days and last painting. The guided tour is excellent and the inform-
ation provided shows visitors how his work changed throughout the years, especially upon
his move from the Netherlands to France, and from Paris to the countryside.
