3. Red Light District
Almost like dolls behind cellophane in boxes on toy store shelves, a walk through Amster-
dam's Red Light District in the evening displays women in box-like rooms lit in red, stand-
ing in front of the window enticing the throngs in the streets.
Amsterdam's Red Light District is known throughout the world for its liberal allowances and
an alternate reality that provokes all sorts of travelers to come have a look.
These days however there are changes happening with the number of show windows being
reduced and overtaken by government projects designed to breathe a different more artistic
kind of life into the neighborhood.
The De Wallen area is the largest and most well known part of the city's world famous Red
Light District. Here you can also spot another type of offering Amsterdam is famous for -
its Cannabis Coffee Shops.
