Taigam Tal Hotel

Housed in a reasonably new, green-and-white two-
storey building by Shuteen Park, this place has neat and tidy modern rooms with TV and
attached bathroom. No English sign (look simply for 'Hotel') or English spoken, but
staff members are welcoming.

This pretty camp is nestled into the crook of a forested hillside, 16km south of Altai
(west off the main road to Biger). Pick-up from, and drop-off back to town is included in
the price. There is no shower. This spot is the nicest place for camping too.
Tulga Altai

Although not so pretty
from the outside, this large concrete block of a hotel, opposite the market, is pretty clean
on the inside. All rooms apart from the T25,000 ones, have attached bathrooms, but with
cold water only. The free-to-use common shower room has hot water, though.

Recently renovated, rooms in this green-and-
white-painted hotel are smart and functional, with TV and bathroom, although the bath-
rooms in the cheaper rooms don't have showers. Has wi-fi and a decent restaurant.
Eating
The restaurant at Altai Hotel was undergoing renovation at the time of research, but is
generally well regarded.

based fare comes in full or half portions. The restaurant includes an attached billiards
hall and karaoke bar.
