South Gobi Museum MUSEUM

( 01532-23871; admission T2000; 9am-6pm Mon-Fri) Surprisingly, this museum has
little on dinosaurs - just a few legs, arms and eggs. (All of the best exhibits are in Ulaan-
baatar or in other museums around the world.) There are a few nice paintings, a huge
stuffed vulture and a display of scroll paintings and other Buddhist items. Look out for
the unusual jade flute.
Sleeping
Like other Gobi aimag capitals, there is no river or any decent place to camp in Dalanza-
dgad. You will have to walk 1km or 2km in any direction from town, and pitch your tent
somewhere secluded.

( 8853 9211; s/d T20,000/25,000, tw T30,000, tr with/without bathroom T35,000/40,000)
This friendly, motel-like place is the town's best budget choice. Rooms are simple, but
clean and bright and management are welcoming to foreigners despite not speaking Eng-
lish. Most rooms have attached toilet, but only one has an attached shower. There is a
common shower, though. The hotel is on your right as you walk towards the bus stand.

( 5073 3038; tw T30,000-40,000, tr T30,000, q T40,000) A rather rundown Socialist-era
hotel, but rooms are large, making this OK for a night. Three of the four rooms have at-
tached bathrooms (the quad doesn't), although hot showers are a trickle. There's a shared
toilet and sink, but no common bathroom.
