Visas
Most nationalities can purchase a 30-day visa at a Mongolian consulate or embassy. Cer-
tain nationalities can visit visa-free.
Money
ATMs are widely available in Ulaanbaatar (UB) and regional capitals. Most businesses only
accept cash, although you can use credit cards at some businesses in UB.
Mobile Phones
Mongolia has four carriers (two GSM and two CDMA). With an unlocked phone, buy a local
SIM card and top up with units.
Time
Ulaanbaatar and most of the country is GMT/UTC plus eight hours. The three western
aimags (provinces) are GMT/UTC plus seven hours.
