Tariat Village
Tunga Guesthouse GUESTHOUSE$

dinner T4500) Backpacker Central in Tariat, this family guesthouse is pretty basic (there's
no shower, and the toilet is a long-drop in the yard), but is run by the welcoming Tunga,
who speaks good English. Rooms are clean and comfortable and she'll let you camp in
the yard if they are full. She organises horse riding (per day per horse US$15, plus
US$10 per guide), can help with onward transport, and has a family ger (GPS: N
48°09.318' E 99°45.206'; per person T10,000) on the quiet south side of the lake, where trav-
ellers can stay. The guesthouse is at the far eastern end of the main strip in Tariat, just a
short walk from the bridge into the park.
Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park
Tsagaan Nuur TOURIST GER CAMP$

as you come down the hill to the lake, this camp is simple but clean, with showers and a
concrete restaurant ger with great lake views. Not much English spoken.
Khorgo I TOURIST GER CAMP$$$

T56,000/20,000) In a lovely grassland location in the Zurkh Gol Khundii (Heart River
valley), around one-hour's walk from the lake, Khorgo I is an immaculate ger camp.
There are hot showers, a cosy restaurant ger with a bar, staff who speak good English and
excellent hiking nearby.
Maikhan Tolgoi TOURIST GER CAMP$$$

Set on a pretty headland on the northern shore of the lake, this is perhaps the most at-
tractive camp on the lake. It has flush toilets, hot showers and a cosy restaurant-bar
(mains T5000 to T10,000). There's also a private beach for guests.
