(mains T5000-10,000; 8am-10pm; ) The town's smartest restaurant is on the ground
floor of Arvaikheer's top hotel and has a fabulous range of Mongolian and pan-Asian
dishes, including soups, salads, kebabs, chicken dishes and plenty of vegetarian options.
It's excellent value, spotlessly clean and the menu has English translations and photos.

Getting There & Away
You can travel quickly along the 430km paved road between Ulaanbaatar and Ar-
vaikheer. And the paved road continues for more than 100km west of Arvaikheer, to-
wards the next aimag capital of Bayankhongor. With a jeep, an experienced driver and
lots of time you could venture south to Dalanzadgad, 377km away in Ömnögov aimag,
either via Saikhan-Ovoo or (more adventurously) via Guchin Us, Khovd and Khongoryn
Els.
BUS
Two daily buses travel from Arvaikheer to Ulaanbaatar (T20,300, eight hours), departing
at 8am and 2pm. The bus station is southwest of the centre, near the highway, in a two-
storey brown-brick building.
