One of the top clubs in town, Brix
is always busy and caters to a mostly 20s crowd of young professionals letting their hair
down. Professional DJs spin club music and top-40 dance music while bartenders serve
up potent, and sometimes flammable drinks. There are theme parties a couple of times a
month, frequent dance acts on stage and unexpected surprises - confetti, CO 2, foam or
other nonlethal objects may be shot in your direction.

Buried under Builder's Sq, this popular pick-up club has two circular-shaped bars and
tables suggestively illuminated with red lamps. Cramped and seedy, it attracts a young,
working-class crowd that comes to party hard. The admission fee is lower than most
places and it's just stumbling distance from most guesthouses, making this a good option
for the backpacker set.

Metropolis (mispro-
nounced 'Metro Police' by most locals) has a large dance floor and a VIP voyeur terrace.
The DJ plays an eclectic mix of disco, salsa, pop, rock and techno. Drinks go for T4000
to T6000. It's set inside a large vault next to the entrance to the Sky Shopping Mall. Al-
though once the most popular place in town, it now has a reputation for attracting mostly
a college-age (and younger) clientele.
