The well-established Shilla is a good spot for a
hot

(T8000) a filling meal loaded with rice, egg and veggies in a sizzling clay-
pot (add meat for another T2000). A portion of
samgyebsal

Run by a
jovial Bostonian named Cliffe, this new place serves gourmet pastas, pizzas, sandwiches
and salads. It's all made with high-quality local and imported ingredients and many items
are made in-house, including the tasty breads. The grilled asparagus is a favourite appet-
iser. There's also a bakery and deli with delicious muffins, bagels, cookies and salads that
make for good snacks. The atmosphere is smart and businesslike. It's tucked off the
street in the ground floor of a five-storey grey building next to a large ger. A

diagonally opposite the
Chinese embassy. Order an array of raw vegetables, sauces and thinly sliced meats,
which are brought to your table on platters, then cook the ingredients in your personal
cauldron of boiling broth. It's a great alternative to the meat-heavy menus you'll experi-
ence at most other restaurants in town and service is top-notch.
