The List contains the type of antifouling system that was applied by
a company. All products with biocides are classified as an organotin-free
self-polishing hydrolysis type or hydration type, an ablative type, or a con-
ventional type, according to the leaching mechanisms of the biocides from
the paint surface. Table 7 shows the top eight antifouling systems with bio-
cides. The most popular is the self-polishing hydrolysis type containing Cu
2
O
and CuPT with 65 products. Cu
2
O alone is classified as a conventional type
(21products)andanablativetype(20products).ThemixtureswithCu

O
are classified into five types, depending on the cobiocide. For example, the
combination Cu

O and CuPT is classified as a self-polishing hydrolysis type
