LUNCHTIME AT NALI PATIO
Just off Sanlitun's main road, and snuggled into the gap between Tai Koo Li's north and
south malls, is Nali Patio ( map ) , Beijing's current lunch venue of choice for expats and
more affluent locals. This building's various levels are full of interesting choices, with most
restaurants putting on good-value lunch sets from noon to 3pm; at the time of writing,
tapas was the taste du jour , though this is the fastest-moving place in Beijing - by the time
you visit, everything could have changed.
Agua 4F 010 52086188. Classy Spanish place with some outdoor seating. ￥ 88, plus
￥ 11 for dessert. Daily noon-2pm & 6-10pm.
Jubang 2F 010 52086071. Korean food that's moderately priced through the day; no
lunch specials. Daily 11am-2am.
Let's Seafood GF 010 52086038. No dedicated lunch sets, though their ￥ 98 mussels
make a good meal at this time of day. Daily 11.30am-2am.
Migas 6F 010 52086061, migasbj.com . Probably the best of the bunch (and also a
great place to drink ), with an artfully decorated interior and tapas-like dishes from various
Spanish regions. ￥ 85 for three courses. Daily noon-3.30pm & 6-10pm.
Mosto 3F 010 52086030, mostobj.com . Yet another Spanish place, and a very good
one too. They often liven up their lunch options with good Central American dishes; keep
your fingers crossed that their famed ceviche is on the menu. ￥ 95, plus ￥ 15 for dessert.

Mughal's 3F 010 52086082. Decent Indian/Pakistani restaurant offering a 35 percent
lunchtime discount. Mon-Fri 11am-3pm & 6-11pm, Sat & Sun 11am-11pm.
Biteapitta 吧嗒饼 , bāda bing 2F Tongli Studio 010 64672961; Jintaixizhao subway (line
10); map . Israeli-run snack restaurant whose falafel pitta wraps ( ￥ 25) are by far the best in
the city - not that you'll notice, or care, after a few beers in the nearby bars. The other offer-
ings are great too, with a special shout out for their six varieties of hummus. Lastly, say the
restaurant's Chinese name aloud, and you'll be inadvertently impersonating Sonny Corleone
from The Godfather . Daily 11am-11pm.
Ding Ding Xiang 鼎鼎香 , dǐngdǐngxiāng 8 Dongdaqiao 010 64179289; Dongdaqiao
subway (line 2); map . The gig at this upmarket hotpot chain is that everyone gets their own
pot, which is handy if one of your party can't take spice or meat. Choose from a wide variety
of broths - chicken is recommended - then pick the raw ingredients to cook up. For a hotpot
