• Signs that may indicate an outbreak of the instability phenomenon or
the beginning of a destructive process are:
° For houses located upstream of containment and/or existing slope,
plumb and/or bulging of the containment, the appearance of water
at the foot of slopes and/or retaining walls, peeling of the surface
slope, the appearance of cracks and/or rebates in the embankment
amount, the appearance of cracks and/or cracks in walls and/or
fl oors of houses;
° For houses located downstream of restraints and/or existing slope,
plumb and/or bulging of the containment, the appearance of water
at the foot of slopes and/or retaining walls, peeling of the surface
slope, the appearance of cracks and/or cracks in walls of houses
if they are holding their own or are connected to it, rebates in the
amount of embankment retaining walls;
° For houses located on slopes: Poles and/or leaning trees, the
appearance of cracks and/or rebates on the surface of the ground
along the slope;
° For houses located on the fl oodplain: Cracks in masonry and rebates
on the fl oors of buildings, cracks and/or rebates on embankments
and retaining walls along the houses, taking off foundations by
undermining and erosion of embankments.
• A qualifi ed technical team will train a group of people (community
leaders, volunteers, etc.) so that they can coordinate and constantly
check the monitoring work done by residents;
Each resident must constantly observe the emergence of signs that
may indicate the process of an outbreak of instability;
• When any of these signs are noticed, the resident and his family must
vacate the property immediately and notify the local technical team
responsible for technical monitoring;
• Residents should be instructed in the notifi cation, to seek technical
assistance from municipal agencies, the name and contact by telephone
of technicians to look for in an emergency should be explicitly
provided;
• Residents should only re-occupy their homes after the risk is eliminated;
• There should be an undertaking from the Government stating that the
protocol resident received these instructions and attempts to fulfi ll
them.

of life and will depend heavily on understanding and cooperation of
