FENG SHUI RELATIONSHIPS
The concepts of the five elements or forces with their yin and yang relationships were introduced
as early as the fourth century BC .All of the elements are connected: Wood makes fire, which burns
it to make earth. Earth has metal (ores). Metal has condensation—water--and water nourishes
plants and trees—wood.
The relationships of the five elements are in accordance with the laws of nature and heaven. It is impor-
tant not to interfere with the order of nature or disrupt the natural conditions designed by heaven.
The ten stems and twelve branches were introduced prior to 2000 BC .Each stem and branch is re-
lated to the five elements and yin-yang principles. All these forces are significant for proper feng
shui location, and a geomancer must be consulted.
