In-Depth Information
The collection started its life way back in 1877 when King Leopold II was gifted with a
collection of one hundred musical instruments from India, and these can still be found in
the huge collection today. Although this museum has instruments from all over the world,
there is a definite focus on Belgian instruments and a visit to this museum is the perfect
way to learn about the musical history of Belgium.
On your visit, you'll also be supplied with headphones so that you can experience more
than 200 musical pieces from the instruments on display.
The entrance costs 12 €, 9 € for over 65s, and 2 € for those aged between 4 and 25.
Travellers Tip: Make sure you visit the indoor and outdoor restaurant with 360° views of
Brussels.
