blood to the head and neck regions (Fig. 2.9 ). The CCA is the main channel for sup-
plying this oxygenated blood. It commonly exists as a bifurcation from which the
ECA and ICA are originated.
The left and right CCA branches out from the aortic arch in the thoracic region
and the brachiocephalic artery respectively (Fig. 2.10 ). This artery, which is also
