7.9

simplest structure with symmetry protected orbital degeneracy exhibiting interfer-
ence blockade. Despite its relative simplicity this system displays different kinds of
current blocking and it represents for this reason a suitable playground for the ideas
presented in Sect.
7.3
. In particular we will concentrate on the blockade that involves
an
excited
triplet state: a regime which is not achievable in the benzene I-SET.
