Results
The total deformation, equivalent Von-Mises stress, and maximum principal stress
evaluated in the 3D Finite Element Analysis is shown in Figs. 8 , 9 , and 10 .
A constant fatigue life of 1e6 is obtained throughout the whole femur for all
models of 17, 32, and 40-year human male patients. The safety factor evaluated for
each model is shown in Fig. 11 . This biomechanical study also shows the per-
centage variation in each model due to increase in curvature or bend in human
femur with age which results in the increase in inclination angle of load appli-
cation as shown in Table 1 .
