In-Depth Information
An investigation.was.performed.for.verifying.the.effect.of.each.parameter;.
two.unconstrained.test.functions.(FON.and.POL).and.two.constrained.test.
functions.(SRIN.and.TAN).are.used.here.for.demonstration.
Since.a.four-dimensional.plot.with.axes.(jumping.rate,.number.of.transposons,.
length.of.transposon,.and.convergence/diversity.metric.value).is.impossible,.the.
number. of. transposons. N . and. the. length. of. transposon. L . as. the. two. related.
indications.of.JGs.were.combined.to.form.a.single.parameter.called.the.param-
eter.index..This.allows.us.to.present.the.results.in.three-dimensional.(3D).plots..
The.correspondence.between.the.parameter.index.and.the.associated.number.
of.transposons.and.length.of.transposons.is.given.in . Tables 5.1. an d .5.2 .
The. 3D. plots. for. average. values. of. convergence. and. diversity. metrics.
against.different.parameter.indexes.and.jumping.rates.for.different.test.func-
tions.are.shown.in. Figure 5.1 . .The.average.convergence.or.diversity.metric.
value.of.each.bar.in.the.figure.was.obtained.by.averaging.the.50.convergence.
or.diversity.metric.values.acquired.in.50.simulation.runs,.respectively.
These. results. revealed. that. lower. jumping. rates. (0.005-0.1). enhanced. the.
convergence.performance;.the.effect.was.not.significant.for.the.number.and.
length.of.transposons..However,.good.performance.could.be.obtained.with.
