Having found a potential “ideal response curve,” we can begin a search
for response curves that might meet these requirements. Encouragingly, this
research is able to identify a small number of curves that possess similarity
to the idealized response curve. Table 7.3 summarizes all the parameter com-
binations that produce idealized response curves. Figure 7.8 illustrates the
