The products were mixed with DNA at different charge ratios
and were run on gel electrophoresis in the presence or absence of
dithiothreitol. Figure 1.18 shows that the products retain the DNA
at positive charge ratios similarly to non-reducible polycations.
On the other side, incubation of the complexes with DTT disrupts
completely the complexes, and DNA runs freely independently of the
charge ratios.
