In-Depth Information
Fig. 10.1. A system of print-to-web linking technology without a retrieve server.
(3) Printing the URL with the images of the sample onto paper. The
information about the URL of a website can be the n-bit stream
corresponding to the URL or to the URL itself.
Step 2: Obtaining the information about the URL of a website by using a
mobile phone that can be initially completed by using the following
methods.
(1) Capturing printed image or bar code using the mobile phone cam-
era and then extracting the information about the URL or using
the URL from the captured image or bar code.
(2) Inputting the URL into the mobile phone directly. If the extracted
information about the URL is not the URL itself, the information
should be transformed to the URL by using a retrieve database
that has been registered in a server or in the mobile phone previ-
ously.
Step 3: Linking the mobile phone to a related website with the URL obtained.
Step 4: Downloading the website page to the mobile phone.
Step 5: Displaying the website page on the mobile phone screen.
System With a Retrieve Server
In contrast to the system not using retrieve server, the system with a retrieve
server can carry out complicated calculations. These include extracting the
watermark from a captured image using complicated techniques, and retriev-
ing the URL with a large database registered in a retrieve server. As shown
in Fig. 10.2, a system with a retrieve server using these steps is given below.
