reaction time for each step in the chemical synthesis is often very short, and
the intermediate products may degrade or decompose quickly [ 3 , 33 ]. Thus the
increase in response time introduced by the on-line calculations required in [ 16 , 36 ]
may have an adverse impact on reaction outcome [ 3 , 33 ]. Therefore, the proposed
dictionary-based method can recover from the error “seamlessly” and minimize the
degeneration of intermediate products of the bioassay. It is important to note that,
even though ONS and Fast Online Synthesis can achieve online re-synthesis, the
calculation has to be performed on the computer. Therefore, they are not suitable for
the low-cost cyberphysical system that has only one single board controller/FPGA.
