The parameter N max denotes the maximum number of additional droplets that
can be used in error-recovery when we consider the cost of samples and reagents.
When N max is set as 2, 3, 5, and 8, the numbers of effective entries that are recorded
in the dictionary are 4,013, 4,113, 4,747, and 5,356, respectively. The minimum and
maximum time spans of these effective entries corresponding to different value of
