stop at Nippori Station for transfers to the JR Yamanote Line. Get tickets from the
counter at Narita Keisei Station in either terminal.
Keisei Main Line Tokkyū (special express) trains run the same route as the
Skyliner twice an hour 10am to 9pm. This budget option costs ¥1000 and takes
1½ hours to Ueno or Nippori.
Limousine Bus ( www.limousinebus.co.jp/en ) Coaches depart regularly from Narita,
7am to 10.30pm, for major hotels and train stations such as Shinjuku (¥3000, 1½
hours). Get tickets from the Limousine Bus counter near the arrival gates at either
terminal.
Taxis Run at about ¥25,000 from Narita to the city centre - naturally we don't re-
commend this.
Haneda Airport
Haneda Airport ( 5757-8111, international terminal 6428-0888; www.tokyo-airport-bldg.co.jp/
en ; Ōta-ku) On the southern edge of Tokyo and much more convenient than Narita.
Tokyo Monorail ( www.tokyo-monorail.co.jp/english ) Runs frequently, 5.15am to mid-
night, to Hamamatsuchō Station (¥470, 25 minutes), where you can transfer to the
JR Yamanote Line.
Keikyū Line ( www.haneda-tokyo-access.com/en/transport/ ) Airport Express trains run
frequently, 5.20am to midnight, from Keikyū Haneda Station to Shinagawa Station
(¥400, 16 minutes), where you can transfer to the JR Yamanote Line.
Limousine Bus Coaches connect Haneda with major hubs such as Shibuya
(¥1000), Shinjuku (¥1200) and Tokyo Station (¥900). Travel time depends on
traffic but averages about 45 minutes to most points in the city centre. The last
bus of the evening leaves for Shibuya Station at 12.30am; buses start up again
around 5am.
A taxi to the city centre, which is your only option if you opt for a flight that gets in
before dawn, averages about ¥6000.
