Contemporary Architecture in
Omote-sandō
The Walk
Omote-sandō, a broad, tree-lined boulevard between Harajuku and Aoyama, is
known for its upmarket boutiques designed by the who's who of (mostly) Japan-
ese contemporary architects. This stretch of prime real estate functions as a
design showroom and is full of architectural eye candy. All of the buildings on the
route are contemporary, though the final stop Nezu Museum is a modern take on
the traditional Japanese villa.
