Sample a cup of paint-thick matcha (powdered green tea) at this tiny teahouse on
the edge of Ueno-kōen. Tradition dictates that the bitter tea be paired with
something sweet, so choose from the mochi (pounded rice) cakes in the counter,
then pull up a stool at the communal table. It's a white building with persimmon-
