The Sights in a Day
Step out of Shibuya Station and you'll immediately encounter the mad-
ness of Shibuya Crossing ( Click here ). Before making your way across
what is quite possibly the world's busiest intersection, pay your respects to the loy-
al dog, Hachikō ( Click here ). Then head east to the new Shibuya Hikarie ( Click
here ) building to see Shibuya's sophisticated side. There are galleries on the 8th
floor and views over the neighbourhood from the 11th floor. Have lunch at d47
Shokudō ( Click here ) on the 6th floor.
After lunch, return to the thick of things and explore Shibuya's central
drag, Center-gai ( Click here ) . There are several worthwhile shops around
here, including Tōkyū Hands ( Click here ) and Parco ( Click here ) , also home to
the pop culture showcase that is the Parco Museum ( Click here ). Be sure to take a
peek into teen fashion trend machine Shibuya 109 ( Click here ).
For dinner, feast on fresh seafood at Kaikaya ( Click here ). Shibuya is
known for its nightlife, and live music in particular: catch a concert at
Club Quattro ( Click here ) or Shibuya O-East ( Click here ) . If you've got energy in
reserves, hit one of Shibuya's nightclubs such as Womb ( Click here ) and dance un-
til the trains start running again at dawn.
