This stylish shrine to the printed word earned a World Architecture Festival award
for the designers, Klein Dytham Architecture. There's a decent selection of topics
on Japan in English, as well as international magazines, art tomes and a whole
floor of music. With two in-house cafes, it's as much a hangout as it is a bookshop.

Designed by the daughter of fashion legend Yohji Yamamoto, Limi Feu creations
are voluminous, dark and street smart. This is the brand's outlet store, with items
from past seasons at serious markdowns. The discounts aren't marked, but if you
show interest in something, the sales clerk will arrive with a calculator to show you
what a bargain it would be. (

Kapital represents another side of Tokyo fashion, a world away from the city's pop
image. The brand has a cult following for its premium denim, dyed a dozen times
the traditional way, earthy knits and lushly patterned scarves. (
