Getting There
Train The JR Yamanote Line stops at Ebisu and Meguro. The Tōkyu-Tōyōko Line
runs from Shibuya to Daikanyama and Naka-Meguro.
Subway The Fukutoshin Line continues on the Tōkyu-Tōyōko Line after Shibuya;
the Hibiya Line stops at Ebisu and Naka-Meguro; the Namboku and Mita Lines stop at
Meguro and Shirokanedai.
The Sights in a Day
Start the day in Ebisu and spend the morning at Yebisu Garden Place,
taking in an exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photo-
graphy ( Click here ) and touring the Beer Museum Yebisu ( Click here ). Then join
the local office workers in the queue at Afuri ( Click here ) for a bowl of rāmen .
After lunch, walk up Komazawa-dōri to chic neighbourhood Daikanyama
( Click here ), about 15 minutes away, for some shopping. Stop for a coffee
(and some people-watching) at Sign ( Click here ) . Then continue to Naka-Meguro
( Click here ) , Daikanyama's artsy little sister, and stroll along the canal lined with
boutiques and cafes. Alternatively, take the train one station from Ebisu to Meguro
and visit the Institute for Nature Study ( Click here ) , Tokyo Metropolitan Teien
Art Museum ( Click here ) and the shops along Meguro-dōri that make up the Me-
guro Interior Shops Community ( Click here ) .
If you're in Meguro, have dinner at Tonki ( Click here ). Otherwise, return
to Ebisu in the evening and hit up one of the stalls in Ebisu-yokochō
( Click here ) , and then hit the bar scene, starting at Buri ( Click here ) .
