11. Piazza Navona
Situated in the historic heart or Rome, the Piazza Navona has a well-earned reputation for
being one of the liveliest and famous squares in all of Rome. Just west of the Pantheon, this
historical spot is home to a number of night clubs, restaurants, outdoor cafes, and other in-
teresting attractions that are appealing to tourists and locals alike.
It is often referred to as being one of Rome's most beautiful squares, and with its three awe-
inspiring fountains, It´s easy to see why. Another stunning feature is the Sant'Agnese in
Agone church, which overlooks the Piazza. This Baroque-styled church is worth a visit, with
its absolutely breathtaking interior that includes impressively high domes.
The piazza now stands on what was the Stadium of Domitan, which explains the elongated
oval shape, the Stadium of Domitan had a larger footprint than the Colosseum. In the late
15th century, the Stadium of Domitan was largely demolished in order to make way for the
new construction.
This historic landmark boasts three stunning fountains, the largest of which is the Fontana
dei Quattro Fiumi, which is located within the center of the square. The remaining two foun-
