8. Via Condotti
Today Via Condotti is one of Rome's most fashionable and popular high streets. It starts
at the foot of the famous Spanish Steps, and crosses Via Flaminia. When Ancient Romans
walked it, it was used as the throughway for those who crossed the Tiber in an effort to
reach the Pincio Hill. This trendy street draws its name from the conduits that carried water
through the streets to the Baths of Agrippa.
Today, this hip street is home to an impressive number of Italian fashion retailers. It can be
likened to London's Bond Street, and Paris's Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré. Italy's fashion
elite and fashion-conscious can often be found in search of the latest in haut couture. You
can find the trendiest goods from such names as Prada, Jimmy Choo, Hermes, Armani, Dior,
Gucci, Burberry, Dolce e Gabbana, Cartier, Louis Vitton, and more.
