on a specific study area. They are promoting “good water management” by bringing
out a multi-agent system across the watershed. One of their promoting possible roles
is to strengthen relations with local stakeholders. They serve as a relay and "buffer
zone" between stakeholders. It is common to involve all water users who use the same
water resource but in a different way and with various representations. Therefore a
major role of boundary workers is to act as translators between users, policymakers
and experts. These river basin manager can be considered as key people in the
implementation of new water management modalities [13]. This is a new form of
cooperation in public space [14]. Consultation and negotiation are central features of
actions where the issue of mediation is central. It is a policy of negotiated
management environment designed to be implemented.
In public space, the role of boundary worker can be endorsed by different people. It
can be someone, like broker, science impact coordinators, and local authorities.

Combining Qualitative Data and ABM
3.1
“An Ethnographic Seduction”
I relied on the paper : “An ethnographic seduction”: how qualitative research and
Agent-based models can benefit each other [15]. It discusses how qualitative research
and Agent-Based Modeling can be combined to help each other. The authors
proposed in this paper an analytical framework informed by empirical data in order to
design an ABM, and feedback on theory and empirical knowledge. They structure the
flow of knowledge from field observation to theory and simulation in the same kind
of cycle process as companion modeling [16-17]. This method could facilitate an
adequate representation of social behavior in an ABM.
